about
Nasser Jaber, an entrepreneur based in New York City, is deeply committed to creating social impact. He moved to the United States at 17, balancing odd jobs to support his family in Palestine and his studies at Baruch College. Through these experiences, Nasser realized that entrepreneurship could be a powerful tool for overcoming financial challenges and finding purpose, particularly for immigrants lacking access to networks and resources. His time working in the restaurant industry exposed him to the struggles of low-wage workers, including waiters, retail employees, and hotel staff, in their efforts to make ends meet.
This insight shaped Nasser's business philosophy, leading him to incorporate social impact into his ventures. One of his initiatives is The Migrant Kitchen which focuses on hiring migrants and providing community assistance. Alongside its non-profit branch, The Migrant Kitchen Initiative, the organization has distributed 4 million meals in New York City, East Jerusalem, and Beirut.
Nasser's work has gained global recognition, and he has shared his insights on prestigious platforms such as TED and SXSW. Additionally, he serves as the Gastro-diplomacy envoy for the State Department to Morocco, Kuwait, and Turkey.
Post Migrant Kitchen, Nasser became the Entrepreneur in Residence at the Venture Capital Firm, Antler, where he co founded his next Venture, Laymune.
